Changes underway in Colombia

By most accounts police in Colombia have improved dramatically over the last 10-20 years and are seen as a model of reform and professionalism in Latin America. Some serious problems of corruption and abuse have recently come to light, however. This article describes changes now underway as the country also hopes to put its conflicts with the rebel group FARC in the past.
