No police union in Mauritius

This column laments the fact that a police trade union is prohibited in Mauritius, although the fire and prison services are allowed to organize. It argues that “working conditions of Police Officers are so poor that even the saints in Paradise can’t understand how they accept to work with such a meagre salary.”
