Fighting internet-facilitated child abuse

This press release announces an award given to the assistant director of Interpol’s Vulnerable Communities Unit for lifetime achievement in support of online safety. In this video the recipient, Mick Moran, describes efforts made over 20 years to reduce the distribution of child abuse materials via the internet, the network of agencies and companies that monitor the problem, and the current emphasis on identifying and rescuing child victims, not just enforcing laws against offenders. He also challenges IT administrators to do more to prevent their systems from being used to disseminate such material.
