Evidence-based policing

There is a lot of attention currently on evidence-based policing (EBP) as a means to further professionalize police practice and administration. EBP societies have been formed in the UK, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, and the US. This blog post considers whether EBP is just the latest fad and wonders if we have the patience to carefully accumulate a scientific body of knowledge in a profession required to respond quickly to society’s latest crisis.
