Violent crime up in the UK

Homicides increased 14% in the UK for the year ending September 2018, and recorded robberies and sex offenses were both up 17%, according to this article. Figures indicate that gun crime has been stable since 2011 while knife crime has gone up substantially since 2015. Despite the recent increases, overall violent crime has declined substantially over the last 25 years. Overall victimization as measured by the annual crime survey, which includes various property offenses, was largely unchanged from 2017 to 2018.
